Milli¥en Talks About His Recent Single "Find Out".
Hi there. Thank you for joining us on Deception! When was the moment you realized that you wanted to dwell into music professionally?
I started writing raps in the 4th grade after buying an iPod and Eminem’s Album “Encore”. All the way up until my last year of high school music was always more of a hobby & a dream until I went and saw Juice WRLD play live, Front row @ Enmore Theatre. The atmosphere and the way the crowd screamed was crazy & I made it my goal to play on that exact same stage one day & as soon as live shows resume in NSW I’ll be doing everything I can to make that a reality.
How would you describe your sound in your own terms?
Somewhere between Rap, R&B, & Pop Milli¥en looks, feels and sounds like surfing a wave & riding a roller-coaster at the same time. Big hooks with contrasting flows and exhilarating highs.
You are about to release your new track “Find Out”. Congratulations on that! It’s such an exhilarating track! How did the concept for the track initially emerge?
Thank you! I always walk into the studio with a type of vibe that I want to be translated into a record. I’d been feeling tension with some life long friends but I was still on such a high from dropping “Past Is Over” and my career starting to take off. So I made a song with ‘conflict’ as one of the main topics but surrounded it with massive energy, good vibes & giving a peak into what’s been going on in my life!
What kind of reaction are you hoping to receive from your fans in regards to this particular track?
I love the track and think its a fun one so I’m so excited to just see all my fans dance and sing along & make stupid TikToks just having fun with it. Nothing makes me happier than seeing other people love my art and I always put in 100% to give them the best music I can.
When it comes to creation of music, who do you draw your biggest inspirations from?
I take creative influence from every song I’ve ever listened to across almost every genre. I’m the type of artist that doesn’t like writing things down! I switched to just free styles in the 10th grade & I feel like I’m at my most creative when I’m just recording straight over a beat. My biggest inspiration for my current method would have to be Juice WRLD, even though I wrote for the longest time as a kid watching the way he could make a whole song on the spot resonated with me in an unexplainable way.
If you could go back in time and give one message to yourself from five years ago, what would you like to convey?
Start releasing music!! Stop free-styling at parties and start dropping ASAP!
What sort of projects are you looking forward to indulge in the future?
I can’t wait to start getting involved with brands and really taking my music to the masses. I think a lot of people can relate to my life story and I want to be able to share that with the world. I’ve got a whole lot of projects in the works, with an EP being one of them.
What is your dream collaboration like? If you could have the chance to collaborate with one artist of your liking, who might it be?
I can’t wait for the day that I make a song with Lil Wayne! He’s someone who has really shaped the hiphop industry into what it is today and It’s a big goal of mine to work with one of my idols.
Lastly, is there anything that you wish to convey to your fans and supporters of your music?
Keep being awesome and don’t change for anyone ever! I just hope my music keeps bringing you happiness & I love each and every one of you
